Aggrieved Journos  :   NUJ-I to hold National Convention on September 11

More than two thousand journalists are going to participate in the National convention of the National Union of Journalists-India, affiliated to the International Federations of Journalists (IFJ), which will be held on 11 September 2020. The foremost concern of the media world will be considered in the meeting.

2000 journalists in 100 Cities will participate and the agenda will be focused on National Register for Journalists (NRJ), Journalist Protection Law, Problems of Small & Medium Newspapers, Impact of COVID19 on Media, Formation of Media Council and Constitution of the Media Commission, Retrenchment of Journalists and Atrocities on Journalists & Fake Cases.

NUJ (I) President- Ras Bihari said , “In the conference, the problems of journalists who were detained and laid off during the Corona era will be discussed in detail. At the same time, the demand for Enactment of the Journalist Protection Law, the formation of the Media Council, and the Media Commission will be strongly raised.”

On August 29, a large number of members of the media took part in the protest, which was led by Mr. Ras Bihari, President of the NUJ-(I)   .

The National Union of Journalists(India )and the Delhi Journalists’ Association have been protesting against the murder of journalists and fake cases against journalists in the country including Uttarakhand. After the protest, two letters were presented to President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. The memo said three journalists were shot  dead despite demands for protection in Uttar Pradesh. These incidents are taking place due to police negligence. In the second letter, it had been requested to intervene in the cases of journalists where they  sent to jail by filing sedition cases against them for exposing corruption and administrative failure in Uttarakhand.(INF).
